MUSIC
Young
children gravitate naturally to music, and it is used to enhance all areas
of the curriculum. By singing and engaging in rhythm activities in the
classroom, the children grow in their use of language, develop math
concepts, follow directions,
and develop an appreciation for different types of music. The children
receive additional music exposure through experiences with a certified
music instructor.
PHYSICAL
EDUCATION
Both
fine and gross motor development are emphasized in the three-year-old
program. Children participate
in weekly gymnastics activities with a certified physical education specialist
from Play by Play, who
focuses on coordination and strengthening of large muscle groups.
Children also engage in classroom activities that allow them to
strengthen and develop their motor skills.
SPANISH
Spanish
in the 3-year-old classroom will be on a very basic level.
Opportunities are provided for children to develop language skills
through songs, stories, games, group activities, and finger plays.
Colors, counting , family members, transportation and animals are subjects
that are introduced in Spanish. Language will be learned in an
informal structure that encourages verbal interaction.
COMPUTERS
Each classroom has a computer for exposure of
educational games for pre reading and pre math skills.
