St. Luke’s Episcopal Day School was established in September, 1956, by The Rev. Charles Buchanan. Beginning with one kindergarten class, the school steadily grew and in September, 1961, a primary program was instituted. Through the next decades the school expanded to include pre-kindergarten classes for 3 and 4 year old children, as well as kindergarten, first, second and third grades. The mission of St. Luke’s Episcopal Day School is to provide excellence in education in a safe, nurturing Christian environment and to inspire the development of the whole student. We pursue the highest educational standards in a supportive, creative environment. We challenge our students’ intellects, encourage Independent thinking and cultivate individual talents. Our dedicated parents and experienced faculty foster moral growth and social responsibility. Within our community of learners, we value tradition, innovation and enthusiasm for life-long learning.

Pre-Kindergarten and Junior Kindergarten classes are licensed by the Arkansas Department of Human Services of Children and Family Services, and are subject to their rules, policies and regulations. The policies, procedures and curriculum for primary classes meet and exceed those suggested by the Arkansas Department of Education.

School children receive instruction in music, Spanish, Computer, and Physical education. Primary classes also receive special instruction in poetry and creative writing.

Christian Education is an integral part of the principle school program with the main goal of helping teach values and principals that will help the children become caring, concerned individuals.  All children attend chapel service once a week in an attempt to help them develop and awareness of Christian growth and love in a community.
